Shampooing 101 & Artist Terminology

So has your hair been feeling dry and you've been using an awesome shampoo, well the problem is not the shampoo it's probably the way you're using it.

Most shampoos in the label in the back say "Lather on wet hair and rinse thoroughly, repeat if necessary." Well it's always necessary to repeat. Why? you ask, well the first initial wash is to remove the dirt and dust in there, even though you might not see it, it's there. So you would just have to apply shampoo from your scalp down to about below your ears. DO NOT APPLY IT IN YOUR ENDS! because shampoo is made to strip out the nastiness that's in there lol. So if you apply it to your ends you end up with very dry ends.

After you rinse the first shampoo do it again. The second wash is for the shampoo to do it's job, because if you just did it once, most of the time it's still dirty and you wash it again the next day. Which is not good either. You shouldn't wash your hair everyday, you'll end up with hair that feels like a Brillo pad lol.

Then when you're done with your shampooing mission haha, go on and continue showering. Then when your hair is a little drier you apply the conditioner from your ears down. (Unless you have extremely dry hair, you can apply a very small amount to your scalp) The reason you do not need it in your scalp is because you naturally produce oils and you don't want to end up with an oily mess when you blow dry your hair.

My favorite hair products are from Alterna. You can purchase them on www.ulta.com and www.folica.com

This is the better way of washing you're hair. I'm in no way saying you HAVE to do it this way but you will feel a difference. Just try it out and let me know how it went for you.

Now onto artist terminology. In the video I talk about a lot of wording that can make a difference. So once you watch the video if you have anymore questions just ask! :)

Thank you so much and Enjoy!
